El Niño is here. Is your agency ready? Hi there, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center reports that El Niño is here and still strengthening. Strong events tend to bring a wetter, stormier South with more severe weather and lightning, heavier snow in the southern Rockies, a higher chance of a big East Coast snowstorm, and a milder North. “This El Niño is already one of the strongest we’ve seen, and it hasn’t even peaked yet. That doesn’t mean a quiet winter. It means a different one, and the organizations that plan for it early will be ahead of it.” Chelsea Ingram, Senior Meteorologist, WeatherWorks (an AEM brand) Our free 2026–27 El Niño Readiness Checklist shows where your agency stands. Check off what you already have in place, and we'll build a custom gap report for your region that includes: Your readiness score, with critical gaps ranked first What El Niño usually means for your region, from flooding and severe storms to snow and ice The fastest ways to close your top gaps Every open item in one list, ready to assign owners Get my free custom report Free · About 5 minutes · Shareable with your team The biggest impacts usually arrive in late January and February.
